Children's Book Review

The Junior League of Midland, Inc. knows that "education is the key to the future." Every month in The Tumbleweed, we feature a book review from one of our "Little Leaguers." Here's a taste. Read more online.

Book: The Teacher From the Black Lagoon

Author: Mike Thaler

Illustrator: Jared Lee

This is a funny story about a boy who is nervous about meeting his new teacher.  He hears that

she is a REAL monster and his imagination really gets crazy!

Favorite Character: The real Mrs. Green because she is nice and pretty and sorta looks like

me.

What would you do if you were the real Mrs. Green? I'd have recess ALL day.

What would you do if you were in the Monster Mrs. Green's class? I'd be really scared and act really

good.

Why do you like this story? It is so funny and helps me remember not to worry about new

things and people.
