Sustainer of the Year: Kenye Kay Butts

Kenye Kay Butts, a native Midlander, is first and foremost a mother to two little boys
named Tucker(8) and Cash(7). She also works full time for a top-selling
pharmaceutical sales agent, Nova-Nordisk Pharma, and is co-owner of Bubbles
Event Rentals and Planning. And finally, she is a volunteer with an amazing heart.

An active member of the Junior League of Midland for eight years, Kenye Kay served
in roles including Charity Ball and established Buckshot Bash, among many others.
She currently serves on the boards of the American Diabetes Association and the
Museum of the Southwest (where she has chaired the SeptemberFest Children’s Fest
for the past four years and received the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2012). Her
past board service includes: Bynum School (helping with Children’s Festival, hosting
Bynum Blooms and coordinating decorations for SMASH) and Big Brothers Big
Sisters (serving as Board President, and chair of Golf for Kids Sake, Bowl for Kids
Sake and founding BOO Bash). She also serves the community through other
fundraisers like Hillcrest School’s Beach Ball Blast, the American Cancer Society’s
Round-Up and The Crisis Center. She was named Volunteer of the Year in 2013 by
the Association of Fundraising Professionals during National Philanthropy Day.

There is no doubt that Kenye Kay has a heart for volunteerism and believes strongly
in the mission of the Junior League. She makes a difference in people’s lives
everyday and we are so honored to name her the 2016 Sustainer of the Year.
